International Graduates that are successful in applying and taking the NCLEX.

World Registration

Hello everyone!

I wanted to hear the stories of international grads who had the success of getting their ATT from different states.

We know that some states are not as open as other states with international graduates. Mostly due to lack of hours, theories and cases issues.

NRSKarenRN posted: These are states having concerns over concurrent therory and practicum, so I would look at other 37 states to obtain license:

Alabama

Arizona

California

Georgia

Illinois

Kansas

Louisiana

Maryland

North Dakota

Oklahoma

Vermont

Virginia

Washington

If there are international graduates who have had the success in acquiring an ATT and taking the exam please share your story. I believe that a majority of us need a shed of light and regain some hope.

Steppy bay .. im just wondring if i can like apply for atleast TEMPORARY license here in California.. so I can Earn before transferring to another state since i already have my hawaii license? and Temporary license will work for like 6 months and in that period i think i can earn.. and not worrying what life awaits me in other states?

According to BRN website temp license still requires you to meet requirements if trained outside of the US

thank you!!!

TX has no problem with concurrency...at least for now... For those looking for an alternative state.

hi Niki_RN I am planning to apply in TX and relocate there. I'm living in california right now but due to this concurrency issues me and husband are planning to move to Texas instead to get started. I'm still working on my CES report I did IERF instead of the others to evaluate my credentials cause I heard that it's easier?... anyways, how did your application go? It would be nice to talk to you.. :)

As mentioned before ideally should apply to state you plan on living in. I know CA has some issues and many looking outside the state but this must be a state you are prepared to move to as it gets expensive applying to different states

hi silverdragon102. can you lend me an ear? if you dont mind. im a newbie in the U.S nursing world and in dire need of your expertise. i have a lot of questions to ask you. here's is my story. i just graduated BSN in the Philippines last april '12 and came back here in the U.S immediately after i graduated. i did not take the NLE last july in the Philippines. now im currently living in alabama and planning to work here. also im still a green card holder and these are my questions:

1. can i apply for NCLEX in alabama even if im not a REGISTERED NURSE from the Philippines?

2. in the process in finishing my BSN in the philippines, i went through 3 different school (i transferred school after school due to family issue). do i need to list all those school in the CGFNS education overview and also send them individual evaluation form for my CES professional report? or do i just need to send one to the school i graduated at?

3. i already tried filling my CES professional report evaluation and i always come upon this "application incomplete" warning because i cannot supply them with an RN license because i dont have any to start with.

PLEASE HELP! i realy dont have anyone else to ask about this. i really need your expertise on this. any reply would be highly appreciated. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Requirements for Foreign trained can be found here Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools

Usually transcripts incorporate all schools you attended so you should be OK just sending to school you graduated from but suspect you need to list the schools were asked

Only thing I can think of in regards to CGFNS saying incomplete application is talk to them and see what they say. Many international nurses from the Philippines do not have a license and they complete the forms with no issues

THANK YOU SO MUCH silverdragon102! your reply was such a big help. i also wanna ask something else:

1. regarding CGFNS ces repost this is what is stated on the filling form,

The basic fee for the Credentials Evaluation Service includes:

Evaluation of transcripts from two (2) professional schools

Evaluation of two (2) registrations/licenses not issued in the

im quiet confussed what it meant by 2 professional schools? while i only graduated on one school.

2. i read in CGFNS that alabama requires CP and CES for licensure by examination. do i need to apply both CP and CES? and if so which one should i apply first?

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR THE INFORMATION. . i really appreciate it!

@ Silverdragon102, I would like to ask if you have any idea for CVS application process. I'm so confused now because since October, my status in CGFNS was "ready for submission" not until this morning, to my surprise, my status was changed to "ready for final review" As far as I remember, I already went through that status and I called CGFNS and the representative whom I have talked to said, it means my report will be send to NYSED. But, I doubt him, shouldn't my status be "ready for submission" before sending my report to NYSED? right? :(
