International College of Health Sciences (ICHS) 2024

Published

Hi, is there anyone here that will start or already going to ICHS? If so how's your experience so far. I am interested in going to this school. I am currently a LVN in California.

Specializes in To be nurse, somewhere in future.

Anyone who is thinking of enrolling in ICHS Florida, PLEASE BE AWARE. I was a student there for 2+ years. Did my pre-reqs and everything with them which was my biggest mistake ever. I was just 2 semesters away from graduating when they kicked me out because I failed a class. I don't think I did bad on my final exam. they do not let you see your exam review. How is this fair?? I sent so many appeals to review my final or let me continue with school. They did not care about me at all. I cried and begged them to let me complete the program. They made me feel non-existent. No reply to my emails and blocked my number too. I have been a very good student all these years. I spent about 30K in tution fee and 8k for clinical travel. My credits aren't even transferable. I am in a very very bad situation. I regret going to ICHS. soooo many people warned me but I did not listen. I want everyone to be smart if you thinking of choosing this school. I am in no state to start everything all over at any other school at this time. I am sitting home doing $15 per hour job. They crushed my dream. I am in no state financially or mentally to do nursing all over again. I am in depression because of ICHS.

I would not recommend this school to my worse enemy.

If you are desperate to get into a program and don't mind getting taken advantage of with your money, no transparency, lack of teaching, disrespectful and rude staff. No real skills experience and not pass the exit that they give no review, study material for. If you don't mind them switching up material and testing days before the exam dates, being treated like you are going to cheat, having metal detectors ran over your body and searched if it goes off, treated like children in elementary school, not having support  and having your positive mindset ruined accompanied with anxiety, depression and feeling like you are worthless and stupid which the Dean calls the students then signup.

This school are not getting more than a handful of locals attending so they take advantage of California Residents and take our money for the slim chance of getting through their program.

They do not care about the students only about the money that is paid to them by who they see as desperate and could not get in any program in California so they came to ICHS out of desperation. They feed on the issues of California nursing school availability and competitiveness.

Thats why they don't require an entrance exam. You pay them to enroll and start giving them $1000 a month and got prereqs or take them there and they will accept you because they want that money and don't give 2 ish about the students.

Students have started petitions and hearing many have submitted complaints. Not sure what will happen now but I will NEVER EVER recommend them is program to ANYONE!

Many of us use that desperation and got Screwed without the vase. This past Capstone had a 90% fail forcing the school to add points to students and pass them which will leave students at a disadvantage if they get jobs and can't perform to California's standards.

Clinicals do not teach skills and Instructors are not nice at all. They expect you to know the skills by watching videos. You will not get Maternity or Acute Care hospital clinicals. Pediatric clinicals are not real clinicals, your time will be spent at nursing homes and assisted living facility doing blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks and passing out meals that the staff don't have time or don't want to do. No skills RN specific will be practiced but you will get tested and expected to know it and don't get the wrong Instructor because you will be publicly ridiculed and disrespected.

They made sudden switches of testing platforms, exit exam was created by the staff instead of the standardized Exit exam it should have been. This is how they fail out students every semester.

Do not go to this school if you value your health and mental wellness. Find a school that will provide you with the education you deserve.

I am appealing. They really do not want us to make it through.  Just want the money being paid to them. That's it's that's all. I hate this school.

I am a recent graduate(05/2024) from ICHS. I recommend this school to someone who works full-time and dreams of becoming an RN.

Pros:

- No in-person class, great for work/home/student life balance.

- All semesters except the exit exam are online.

- LVNs can give APA and get advanced placement, which makes them skip a whole semester. (funda+pharm)

- The $$ for the whole program is about half of what Cali or other states' private nursing schools would generally charge. (ASN)

Cons:

- There was no acute care experience during the clinical rotation. The experience primarily consists of long-term care and rehab, except for Boward Children's Care ( LTAC) for peds and a few days at Larkin Hospital - Miami.

- Since it's online, students have tried cheating by various means, and some have been caught. Every time someone cheats, the school becomes stricter and adds more checks/balances.

Grading is strict, and the mid- and final exams carry the highest percentages. Given that it's online, the semesters are more challenging to pass.

- Mostly self-paced, sometimes can put students at risk of getting off track.

My experience with the school was positive. However, I wish they had acute care clinical rotations, which can help students get into the new grad program. Almost 90% of my batchmates and I made it through the exit and passed the NCLEX on the first attempt. It's doable and not very intense. Nursing school is hard, irrespective of which school you choose; it requires a lot of studying and discipline. I consider myself an average student; if I can do it, anyone can.

Good luck!

You left at a good time.  They school has since gotten so much worse. No more Larkin or Miami hospital. All skilled nursing and assisted living.

Finals have jumped up to the 70%

The treatment has gotten worse.

A friend also graduated in May. She is so glad she got out when she did because this school has gone mad and increased their prices.

Not the same anymore. Many are looking to leave.

Last semester 90% of Capstone failed because they switched mid semester to ATI and started creating their own Exit instead using the platform they switched to and failed almost everyone. To prevent reporting it to the Board they increased some students score on Exit but still very low pass rate.  They constantly lied and said they were not switching and still after they switched the platform.

This school is not the business. Had high hopes but now they are looking very scammish and all they are concerned about is the money you sign the contract to pay.

Sorry but this is the Real today and it gets worse.

I will never recommend this school even to my worse enemy. Mental and wellbeing is ruined for many.

Hi @Alissa F where you mentioned "The exit exam my friend didn't pass the first time but she passed her second time after giving herself more time to study"  What did the exit exam consist of? And what helped her pass? Was there any month involved? That's what I'm scared of LOL
