I hate this class!

I have never been a wiz at math but I passed Basic and pr-algebra with an A but this class makes we want to cry. I just can't grasp some of the concepts and the teacher moves too fast. :banghead:

This is my last math class then I can move on to my science classes. I had a test last week and will get the results back today. I just need to pass this class with a C, I don't care if I don't get an A.

I'm just venting and need lots of encouragement to get throught this. Counting the days till it's over :bluecry1:

I took intermediate and college algebra last semester (back to back) and I got an A in both classes. Here's the thing: I have a learning disability in math but I had an excellent professor. He was experienced and patient. This was the first time, in my life, that I got an A in a math class. So you can do it if I can do it, just perservere!

I feel your pain but I'm not even to that point yet! I am NOT looking forward to anything past Beginning Algebra. Blah!

I have 2 years of college done, but NO math whatsoever. I avoided it like the plague! I had some rotten experiences with public school math teachers growing up (as in, they were overworked and I didn't learn... until my mother found out I couldn't add or subtract in 5th grade, and took it upon herself to drill it into my head with flash cards, every day after work for an hour), then later in high school I had a teacher that moved way too fast and I felt like I was the only kid who 'didn't get it' and I was always too scared to hold up the class so she could explain things to me, and I felt dumb so I never asked for help. Then again I had to have a tutor, every day for 2 hours, again, because my mother found out. Thank god for mom. Looking back now, I shake my head at myself. I was young, acting stupid as teenagers do... and I have thankfully gotten older and (hopefully) wiser since then!

I hope to start my math courses either this fall, or in the Spring of '10. (Why does saying "Spring of '10" sound so strange?) I definitely will be partaking of the tutoring. I will probably be in there every day, then at the library after that. I know I can get it if I don't "overthink" the math. That's always been my biggest obstacle. I guess being a psych major didn't help. lol

Btw, the net has a lot of good resources for us non-math types. Here is one site I've found helpful... It's been REALLY helpful to me, the anti-math person that I am. It has short, simple lessons and a quiz after each. It is called... Math for Morons Like Us! lol

Well good luck in your math classes. If you take advantage of the resources availabe, are lucky enough to get a good professor and study hard I bet you will do fine.

Luckily, I am finished with my math course so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Please try to get the most of intermediate algebra... it is necessary for drug calculations, where you only have a book, and NO lecture!!!

so do what you can, study up... because I can definately tell you!!! it will definately come in handy!!!! it did to me!
