Interesting article about Canada and immigration

Note that it makes mention of family members not being able to accompany the nurse as well.

I couldn't tell if immigration is open or not from that link. Interesting though.

The Canadian federal government does a lot of talking and very little doing. They'll be facing a no-confidence vote on Dec 8th over their recent economic package; a coalition is being considered between the Liberal and New Democratic parties and the separatist potentially-country-destroying Bloq Quebecois that could topple the Conservative minority government. I wouldn't read too much into this report at this time.

Thanks for the clarification, it didn't make sense.

The article stated that they would be fast-tracking nurses in little less than a years time vs it taking 6 years as for other professions.

But it also stated that it was going to fast-track financial people, and they are getting laid off all over Canada at this time.

But the key point buried in it was the statement that one would not be able to bring their family with them with these temporary work visas until one gets landed immigrant status. That is the point that I was trying to make.

But as Jan said, alot of this went into play before everything tanked all over the world. Canada is also having its share of major problems as well. Just like the US, there is no place that is immune to it.

Those nurses from China got PR status before they apply to CRNBC. ( but having some issue with CRNBC ).

Phillippino, Latino and Indian might want to try that route.

here's a translated page ( poor English translation from Google )

Usually applying for PR before coming to Canada can take several years an option is PNP but each province will have their own requirements and it is processed whilst using TWP so quicker that way and you can go to Canada and start working. Usually you need to be registered with province and have permission to work temp as a nurse until you sit the exam and go through TWP and PNP
