Interested in travel nursing

You just have to find an apt that will take pets. Has nothing to do with the agency itelf.

You will need a license and can apply for that by "License by Endorsement" for which ever states that you want a license in.

Suggest that you just do a search on this forum and you will find all of the answwers that you are looking for.

I have traveled for 7 years with pets..so dont worry there are companies out that that will find you great housing with you dog. I would go with Response 1 Medical -if you ever decide to go to California they are excellent---and very pet friendly. But the places you have wanted to go to, I would give -----a call at PPR.

If you enjoy the assingment you are on, almost every hospital will ask you to resign-I have stayed that the same assignment up to 1.5 years. If you like the job, ask your manager at about 6 weeks into your contract if you could have an extention.

Please remember per pub 463 that any assignment that lasts more that a year is NOT a travel assignment.
Your tax home just changed to that location and you are not eligible for tax deductions as a travel nurse.

Traveling with pets is not a problem. I do it and my recruiter finds me apartments and I pay the pet deposit. You might have to be more flexible on where you want to go.

:idea: Yes, remember with Travel Nursing, you need to ask for what you want. The big difference with Travel Nursing is you usually get what you ask for (that is within reason). Knowing what is reasonal is key but you can always ask... Learning how to advocate for yourself can take some getting used to but there is no time like the present to start.

I have seen Travelers get a weeks paid time off in the middle or so of a contract; or you could get back to back time off (realizing it can be like 8 days off) to take care of personal matters etc. After a contract is complete, you can take as much time off as you wish. Some travelers take off quite a lot of time and pay for their health insurance (if you use the Traveling Companies Health Plan) and pay for it with the Cobra Plan.

Do you know of any nurses who have went to Kona Hawaii? I have to rent a car to get around and the company I am with doesn't reimburse for rental cars and there isn't any public tranportation? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thamk You Sandra
