  1. I made the decision to go for it. I start towards the end of this month. It is a non-union job, so they will not let me fill in and stay casual since its crossing from union to non-union within the same facility. However, they are toying with the idea of getting the clinic nurses in this area into the union, so if that ever happens, it would open the door for me to help pick up call, etc..... I am hoping I like the change. I am used to such a fast paced, quick thinking environment.... but keep thinking if I had turned this new job down, I may have always wondered " what if"... atleast I know I am leaving on good terms and can always " go back" someday …. Thank you all for your advice!!! ? I will update this as I am able ?
  2. I found out I am about 3 months pregnant. I have been in ortho working with bone cement. we have good airflow and have the mixing containers...I asked my dr and she said it was fine as long as the smell didnt make me sick. Now I have a co worker that is also pregnant and people are telling her to stay away from any cases where there is any cement because it could damage the baby.. I am very confused now, and worried. Anyone have any experiences, or know of any cases where problems occured? Thanks in advance!
  3. Hey everyone! Im very interested in travel nursing.. i have so many questions... Im looking for a travel agency that will pay for an apartment and that will take pets... Im also looking for one that has a pretty open variety as far as assignments... Im looking at the austin, tx area but want to be open to the possibility of places in Florida also, being I have family there. I havent thrown out the possibility of Hawaii either being that I love it there... I am wondering after your assignment is up, is your contract done and then you sign a new one? How does it all work? What are your chances of resigning in the same area? Like if I like Austin, will my chances of getting another assignemnt there be pretty good? Or do I just quit the travel and find a permanent position? Im full of questions.... anyone know of any well reputable travel companies or which ones to avoid? Id love to hear back.. please PM me... I am single, 27 years old with a dog... worked as an RN for about a year and a half.. med/surg and also wondering how you go about finding out ... Im looking for day shifts.... straight days if possible.... maybe a few evenings here and there, but hate working nights.... Also what do you do about your nursing license for all these places? how would i find out what companies offer all that? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!
