right now i just applied to the VA, and it looks promising , im 22, a newer RN with a BSN. i only have 6 months experience so far. i would love to get in the navy reserve if it means that i spend 2 days a month and 2 weeks/year. would my age and limited experience prevent me from joining the navy reserve? i want to get an insight first from navy reserve nurses before i contact a recruiter. If i do get accepted into tha VA, would the navy reserve conflict much with my civilian job? i want to get a nice headstart while im young. Thanks!

I can not speak about being in the Naval Reserves as a nurse but was a Navy Corpsman before I switched to the Army Reserves as a nurse. Your age or experience should not be a problem for you to get in the Navy Reserves. As far as the VA goes, there is no problem there. Worked at a VA & in the reserves.
Had no problem with getting time off. Got 15 days off each year for military leave.
thanks jeckrn.
