Hi everybody!
I hope you can help me with some information on how to sit for Guam or Saipan or HongKong for NCLEX. I know that NCLEX is already here in Manila but it is of my preference to sit exam in either Saipan or Guam or HongKong but I prefer the first two.
All I know is that for travel to Saipan, Philippine nurses do not require a US Tourist Visa (can be granted about 3 or 4 days Visa only). For travel to Guam, Philippine nurses are required to obtain a US Travel Visa. Nurses who have the NCLEX® paperwork should not have difficulty in obtaining the needed visa for NCLEX® testing in Guam. It does however require, fees and paperwork. I am willing to go through this so as early as now I would want to know the necessary information. Hope you can help me out.
I need to ask information what travel agencies you know of in Cebu City Philippines that can help process with the necessary requirements and give me estimates of possible expenses. How much will it cost me so that I can prepare ahead of time. Please Please Please. Thank you so so much!:bowingpur
KUDOS to allnurses.com and KUDOS to all the NURSES out there! Help me out...:heartbeat You may PM me if you have essential information. Thanks very much.

I hope someone can answer this post. I do have the same question, like I wanted to take my NCLEX either in Saipan or Guam... do I need to have a US visa?
I'm currently working here in Dubai....

The US government will not issue a tourist visa for you to write the exam in Guam, same way that they will not issue one for you to write it in the US.
Not sure why you do not want to write it in Makati, you are going to be getting the same exam no matter where you test. It is not going to be easier to take it anyplace else.
You can count Guam out of the equation if you do not already hold a US tourist visa. Much has already been written on this subject, please just do a search for threads on the Philippine Forum on this topic.
Saipan requires a specific visa for that territory and it is valid for only three days. Not sure why one would want to go there and pay all of the additional fees when the testing can be done right in Manila now.

Can someone help me how to get in touch with the people in CNMI Board of Nursing. They seem to care for nothing. I have been waiting for my validation for license for visa screen and sent them $40 cash for processing but they have not acknowledge anything nor have i recieve any reply from CGFNS for 2 months already. The only staff, Ms. Sinforosa de leon Guerrero refuses to answer calls/ emails/fax. Spent thousands just to get in touch with me. I'm helpless and they're hopeless!

cnmi needs to reposition self as an nclex certification site
by agnes e. donato
reporter
the northern marianas can still gain from filipino nurses taking the u.s. licensing examination, despite manila now offering the test, according to the local nursing board.
the cnmi has seen a huge drop in the number of nurses taking the national council licensure examination since manila started offering the test in august last year.
data from the commonwealth board of nurse examiners show that from august 2007 to july 2008, 130 nurses took the nclex at the pearsonvue testing center on saipan. this is a drop of 71 percent from 461 test takers during the same period in the previous year.
but bertha camacho, a member of the commonwealth board of nurse examiners, said the commonwealth could continue to profit from the nclex market by repositioning itself as a facilitation office for filipino nurses who are seeking to be certified to take the test.
based on information from the national council of state boards of nursing, there are 20,410 nursing tests taken in manila since the city was designated as an international nclex site in february 2007.
according to camacho, all nursing graduates are required to get the certification from a nursing board in the u.s. jurisdiction before they can take the nclex. currently, the cnmi nursing board charges $110 for each certification. the fee differs from state to state.
but the commonwealth is losing out on this revenue-generating opportunity because the nursing board lacks the manpower to do process applications. the nursing board has only one full-time employee.
"we need manpower to do the work that needs to be done," camacho said. she said the board needs funding for at least two administrative assistants and one clerk to ensure efficient processing of applications.
sen. paul a. manglona has expressed support for the nursing board's funding request. he pledged to bring it up as lawmakers draft the budget for fiscal year 2009.
