Hello, here I am again, asking your kind heart as to provide me information on what is the best nclex reviewer to buy. I went to National bookstore and asked for nclex reviewer the available reviewers are from mosbys and lippincot (is the spelling right?), are they good for me who hasn't been active and idle for a decade?

Thanx a lot for the info

I got my 3rd edition comprehensive review for 1,518.15 over a month ago at C & E recto. The book came with a cd rom. I think it's more expensive because the copy that I got has nice white paper ( nice to read and mark :lol2: ),and not the newsprint which I think is the only one available now.

i bought saunders comprehensive review at C&E recto and they gave me a cd with it plus the 5% discount..tell them if the cd is not included with the book how come others were given the cd free. mine is a republished version also.

Thank you, I will tell them that. Once again thank you for the help

From what I know Philippine copyrighted books are legal, as they have sought and got the approval of the original publishers to reprint their works here in the Philippines, and that they paid due fees to do this. Photocopy reproductions are definitely illegal.Just to make sure, buy from reputable bookstores such as NBS and Goodwill, keep the reciept if you can.

Sorry, but those copies are illegal in the US. The books are covered under US copyright law, not Philippine Law. And most of the books for nursing that are available there are bootleg copies. And if you notice, they do not come with the CD. In the US, they come with the CD as part of a set.

The books that are for review for the NCLEX exam usually have been mass-printed there in the Philippines and are not even permitted to be brought into the US. If they were lega, there would never be any problem with them coming in. But if brought in the Customs does a search of your suitcases, they are taken away.

That means they are illegal copies. If you have further questions on this, contact the publisher for the book. You will find that if it is an approved issue, it will list where they have their offices and not be specific to being published in PI. The other Asian countries that have legal editions, do not have books that were printed in their country for most parts, other that say Australia. PI copies that are printed there are not legal copies. The legitimate issues are sold at legitimate book stores and for at least the same fee as in the US. That fee for a legal copy is $42.95 US currently. The illegal copies are available for much cheaper prices.

I know that this post is from last year but it is important that all of you are aware of this.

Hi, I called C & E quezon ave and they told me that cd is not included on the cheaper book 700+, may I know where in recto is C & E located, is it near PRC? The last time I went there was several years ago. Thank you very much

And if the CD is not included, it is an illegal copy. There are no cheaper versions that are available legally.

does anyone have the saunders cd, is it possible to burn a copy of it? i will pay for a copy and shipping fees... no funds for the book yet, please pm me if this is possible.

This is 100% illegal to do and in violation of US copyright law.

Maybe you're talking about the xerox copies? Mine is a reprint and there is a copyright sign inside. It says: Reprinted edition copyright 2006 Elsevier (Singapore) Pte Ltd. All rights reserved. No part of this publication may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means....blah...

Then there is an address:

So I'm not sure if this is what fellow Filipinos here are talking about because I bought it also at C&E. And it does come with a CD.

Yours is a legal publication. And it comes with the CD, only those that are legal have the CD included in the package. All of the others that are sold without it are bootleg copies, and are not permitted to be brought into the US.

There are many that are being sold there where the publisher is not being compensated and that means that they are not a legal issue. Yours is an actual approved book.

I see. thanks. I thought it's pirated, what with the amount of piracy going on here...

Saunders comprehensive review book, 3rd edition - blue

That still does not mean that the actual one that you have was not copied, but at least it looks more above board than some of the others that I have seen. Guess, first question would be: How much did you pay for it? All over the world, they are the same price, plus the shipping charges, if there are any. And that is $42.95 US. If you paid only about $10 US for it, then it is not a real version.

No legitimate edition is going to be cheap. No matter where you purchase it, and it would be the same as the prices in Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. Not any cheaper if it is a true edition.

Questioning the edition that you have, contact Elselvier in Singapore and they will give you an answer. You do not have to give them your name, so do not worry.
