Inpatient Psych - Ever call the police on a patient?

I'm just curious if there has ever been a situation where you have had to call the police on a patient? Due to violence or destruction in the inpatient setting.

Specializes in hospice.

Specializes in M/S, LTC, Corrections, PDN & drug rehab.

I worked drug rehab but it had a psych portion to it & we would have to call police or EMTs. Usually the police were called if there was a fight or the patient attacked one of us.
