Injuries r/t toning sneakers

Have there been any injuries at your facility r/t toning shoes( shape-ups, etc)? We have had 4 incidents of either aides just falling or dropping residents within the past two weeks. They were all wearing those shoes, and one complained that her heel rolled when she was transferring. Anyone seen similar?

I actually fell and sprained my ankle badly on the shape ups. Toning shoes are unstable!

I have really bad weak ankles and I decided to try out a pair of these. My ankles can turn and roll even if I am not moving. In these that is exactly what they did, my ankle touched the floor 2-3 inches down. I thought I broke it for a while but the ER said it was just sprained..... Ditching the crazy freaking shoes!

They take some time to get used to, but I have been wearing them a long time and never had any falls. They are the only shoes my feet can stand, I guess because they take alot of the pressure off of your heel. However, after wearing them for over a year I have yet to see any "toning". I can see them being a problem for some though.

No problem wearing my toning shoes. They actually made my legs and ankles stronger. I wear Beebe Gliders. More cushion and lower price than Skechers.

"Google beebe gliders" White glider on the web site is really quite an attractive shoe, although the picture on the web site doesn't show the true look. Black one is also real nice looking shoe.

They hurt my back and knee. I am a small person, very hyper-mobile and this really messed my back up. I had to go to therapy for 6 weeks to help recover from it. 9 months later I tried them again for 1 day because my other shoes weren't working right, and I felt my back twisting and my knee too mobile.

I have had MBTs since shortly after graduating, and, based on my bragging, others went out to buy cheaper versions. All of them have been injured since: tendon strains, stress fractures and a rolled ankle.

I have personally almost rolled my ankle in my MBTs, but it was because I was not practicing good body mechanics and trying to step sideways while twisting (stupid).

I absolutely cannot say enough about how much my MBTs have helped me with pain in the feet/legs....even with the 330 pounds I was carrying with me through the 12 hour shift. Thankfully, the weight is coming down...but, I'll stick with the MBTs :)
