Information on Lawson wallace and jeff state nursing programs

Published

Hi, if anyone reads this, I have a few questions for people that have already been through the nursing process or are going through it now. I have all my prereqs completed. I have a score of 181 according to jeff state, but Ive been told that every college is different on how the score you. I have been told that wallace and lawson state are admitting people in their nursing programs with these scores, I hear jeff state cut off is around 185. Do any of these schools admit during the summer? I missed the cutoff date for applying anywhere for the spring. What kind of scores would I need to get into the summer or fall of 2010 at each of these schools if you had to guess, I just dont want to waste any time. I live in birmingham so each of them wont be that big of a deal to drive to. Any information on herzing or Bevill??? Is it easier to apply for LPN as far as just "getting in"???

I would definitley try to have your anatomy classes out of the way before you start nursing school. It will help a lot with understanding the material and be one less class for you to worry about once you get into nursing school and don't have much time for anything else. Good luck!

I did my pre-nursing @ JSCC, and didn't get in by 1 point. I am now in my first sem. @ WSCC, and am so happy I didn't get into JSCC. Its a much larger campus, with much better resources than JSCC. And every nursing program says that they are the one that everyone wants to hire, its all utter crap. Look at the NCLEX scores, see who prepares their students the best. All I know is that every single teacher here at wallace are more than happy to help you succeed. Most ppl at JSCC seem to feel like its all sink or swim. Come to Wallace, they have been doing it alot longer than Jeff State, and they know how to run a program.

If your interested in NCLEX scores for Jeff State.... I can tell you that the May 2009 Jeff State class has a 100% pass rate :yeah:

Great school and I was very prepared for the NCLEX ! Jeff State also has the 90 hr preceptorship in the last semester.

Best of Luck in your nursing career!!

Can anybody tell me how you find out your points? Or is this something you will know when you receive your acceptance/rejection letter? I wish I knew where I stand as far as getting in. I was told it's based on points that are added up from your pre-reqs, GPA, TEAS score, etc.....They asked for GPA from last 24 credit hours, mine is 3.5, I made 81.3 on TEAS (95th percentile) and all my pre-reqs I have made A's and B's...possibly one C...so I don't know how to tell what my points would be. Anybody?

It should be on your application info. If not I think that an A = 4pts, B = 3pts, and C=2pts. Good luck and hope you get accepted! With your grades and GPA I don't see much of a problem with that happening though. :)

Thanks, I sure hope you are right! :dncgbby:

I wouldn't recommend anyone to attend LSCC nursing program. It is a joke! I heard of all of the bad things about LSCC nursing program & gave them the benefit if the doubt! However, I attended this program & must say that everyone is not telling the same lie about this program. It's so unprofessional. You may have 1 or 2 good instructors but the majority of them are pitiful, jealous-hearted, & pure evil. You would actually think you were in high school dealing with some mean girls drama. They single students out who's opinions differ or have a problem or shall I say not afraid to stand up for what's right or even if they just don't like you. If you ask questions, they give smart remarks. I'm not pushing LSCC under the bus but I regret I wasted my time there. I'm just speaking from my personal experience @ LSCC nursing school.
