What on earth is informatics. I just registered for my first semester of nursing school and am super excited! One of the classes for my program is informatics. I've googled the definition of the word, but that hasn't given me much of an idea of what I will be learning in that class. Does anyone know much about informatics as it relates to nursing? I'm really nervous about taking a subject I know nothing about!

Informatics is basically the use of technology to learning nursing concepts and enhance nursing skills. Here is a link to a course description for a general nursing informatics course from an online learning center.

Also, my college had a list of courses and course descriptions on the school website. If you search there, you may be able to find a course description that is specific to your class.
I'm checking out the link from your school right now. I didn't even think to check the online course descriptions. Thank you!
