Info needed on EC's A&P test please...

Hello,

I am preparing to start studying for excelsior's a & p test. I am wondering if anyone has any updated study materials to recommend? I was thinking of getting physiology demystified, and using the ec content guides. Also purchasing the ec practice tests. I am worried if i only get the physiology demystified then i wont have had enough study materials for the anatomy portion of the test. Any advice anything that is good for just the anatomy portion? or both portions lol.

I would definitely recommend the practice tests. I used Anatomy and Physiology for Dummies, ISBN:074654220 and Standard Deviants Anatomy DVD. I know it sounds like $$$ but I buy most of it used except for DVDs and sell the books on Amazon, after I'm done. Study Group 101 helped, too.

I got an A on that test, after studying for a few weeks.

hey little miss redpatch thanks for the response! quick question, do you feel if you had only studied with using studyguide101 that you still would've passed the exam and or done so well?

I would find a used version of the recommended text. I got one for about $25. It was like 1100 pages and I read it front to back. It was nice because it had alot of pictures to help visualize things better. I passed 1st try with a C, but I had alot of personal issues going on at the same time that I was studying for this exam. I might have passed with just studyguide101 & being a paramedic, but I do not think it covers enough. I would use an anatomy & physiology book and anything else that helps you retain the material (like flash card exchange).

I used the recommended A&P textbook as well as some Barron's anatomy flashcards, among other things. A&P is just such an important foundation for everything, so this is one area where I definitely did NOT skimp. I had a four-credit, one-semester A&P course when I was in paramedic school, but I didn't get credit for it because it was called "Human Biology" or something like that, plus it had no lab. Even with that, I wanted to make sure I had a very solid grasp for EC's A&P exam. It's just such a big exam, content-wise. Good luck!!

Check your local library for a current A&P textbook, our library can borrow the recommended textbooks from a larger library and you can keep it out for 1 month - enough time to study and its FREE!!!!

Use the recommended a&p book. Go through the study guide line for line , understand the concept of what you are reading thats what I did and remember the practice test very valuable
