I would pick up the phone on Monday and call the LBON. You will keep your TX license and apply for LA license in addition to what you have. They will be able to walk you through the process, step by step. Good Luck! :)

By the way, the state of Louisiana refers to its basic nurses as "LPNs," instead of LVN, which is the title that is used in only California and Texas. Perhaps this would assist in your searches for clarification on obtaining licensure in another state.

You will need to endorse your Texas license into Louisiana. In other words, you will need to apply for licensure by endorsement to Louisiana's BON. In addition, you can be licensed in as many states as you wish, provided you are willing to spend the money to maintain multiple licenses.
