MRSA/VRE and Phage

I've been reading up on Phage treatments and wondering if any of you

have heard of any patients that had gotten this type of therapy.

There are a number of PubMed and AMA articles supporting the

treatment but it is not FDA approved as yet.

There is a treatment center opening in Mexico soon, however.

Let me know what you think!

If you are unfamiliar, look on my homepage under treatment options to read up on it!

If it isn't FDA approved yet, then you will not see it in the US, unless it has been under a small trial somewhere. And if it is first coming out or being done in Mexico as the only place, it will be quite some time before it will be offered here.

It's actually a very old therapy that has been revived. It was developed along side the antibiotics as early as the 1930's.

With the resistance growing world wide, other countries have used this therapy successfully for a while now. It just hasn't gotten the attention some other more popular drugs has. Vanco, Bactroban and Zyvox are well known because of their approval for use here in the states.

But resistance is growing to Vanco and Bactroban daily. *shudders* I hate to think of the day when it doesn't work on my son. But it could happen.

Thanks for your reply! I look forward to hearing what others may know about Phage.
