Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hey all!! Ok so I applied to ISU and i live in VA, hoping to get on the LPN-BS track. Anybody have any information about the program and how it is?? Distance learning wise?? I've heard nothing but good things about this program but I just wanted feedback before I get into something I can't get out of without wasting money. Anyone know if credits are transferrable??

oh i don't doubt that but when you talk to them on the phone or meet with them it's a different story . i met with them once for ec long time ago and i knew before hand they where a publishing company but they did everything they could just short of saying "we give you the degree" to make me think they where the degree granting institution. i personally think it's a rip off. thank the good lord for e-bay and half.com

?? i dunno but i have all paperwork from them and it's really clear that they provide study guides and you test through clep, dsst, and excelsior. i really honestly don't understand why anyone who takes the time to read their literature and contract would be confused. it's all pretty black and white imo.

well, that wasn't my experience and to a lot of people the streamlined study guides are way easier than drudging through an entire textbook. like a lot of things, you pay for the product and the service itself. just depends on what your needs are. :)

well, i dont even have that many pre-requisite classes to take, so I dont know if I should even go through TCN. The thing is, when I met with someone from TCN, they were ready to set me up and have me sign a contract when all I really wanted was information about it. The person was kinda pushy and tried to argue with me about how he couldn't believe i wouldnt just sign up cause it would be easier to go through TCN, and saying stuff like, most people are always in rush to finish school (which i dont doubt) however, im single, dont have anything really to worry about, so I can actually sit in a classroom. It was weird, but I havent signed with them, just waiting to hear from ISU.

Yup, they're still in sales so you'll have that. :) I'm not really the kind of person who is intimidated by pushy sales people so I was like whatever and I took the information and called her when I had made my decision. I just told her I don't sign anything on impulse and she backed off. I'm too used to telling my kids if they get pushy and nag that they get nothing that it doesn't phase me to do it to adults too. LOL! ;)
