IUSB Nursing Program

U.S.A. Indiana

Does anyone have any advice for me?

I am at Ivy Tech South Bend right now, transferring to IUSB this fall (2014), and I will be a prenursing student. I have my Anatomy & Physiology out of the way (except for the advanced course I have to take this summer), and I need to do my Chem, Micro and few other courses before applying for IUSB's nursing program next fall (2015).

I have heard through the grape vine that IUSB will wait list me for my clinicals (if I get into the program) because I am a transfer student, and I am curious as to the truth in that - I spoke with my adviser and she claims that is untrue.

I know I will be docked points because I am a transfer student - but it shouldn't keep me from entering the program if I keep my 4.0.

Any advice, encouragement, and truth would be helpful right now! Thank you :)

Hi all!

I have a quick question and am wondering if any of you could help me out??

I am living in South Bend, Indiana and I have attended Ivy Tech Community College the past year for pre-nursing and I have decided to transfer to IUSB in the fall for a BSN degree.

I have a few more pre-reqs to get out of the way at IUSB before I can apply to the program (it is selective admission - 24 students a semester), and the point system for admission is complicated.

However, since I am a transfer student I will be getting a lower score on some of my categories for points because I have taken 10 Science credits at Ivy tech (aphy 1 & 2 and advanced human physiology - A's in all though).

I am very concerned that I am going to spend all this money at IUSB and then not get accepted and I am wondering if there are any nurses/nursing students who have gone the route I have and what your advice would be?

should I try and apply at Bethel, and Saint Mary's as well? I will be applying for the ASN at Ivy Tech as a backup.

THANKS :)
