Indiana?...CNA job advice..

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

I am going to be taking a 3 week CNA course which I will complete at the end of May. I have been searching the web and doing some research on jobs in northwest Indiana for when I get done with the course..and PASS the exam.

Does anyone know where you are better off making more money as a CNA in Indiana? I've heard the hospital as long as your willing to work later shifts...

Might I add that I have applied to an RN program and LPN program to start the fall semester, and Im pretty sure I will get into one of them, will it matter that I will be a nursing student as to what the pay will be?

I will be getting married next summer, and I have no kids....so i am willing to work crappy shifts while Im in school to make that money!

Thanks!!

Hello! I live in Indiana. I live in northeast Indiana so I don't know names of places for you to work but I will tell you what I know. #1 there is no doubt that you will pass the exam as long as you pay attention and use common sence. If you live in a smaller town where there is a hospital that will be the best place to work as far as workload and expirence if those things are important to you that is the best place to work, however,it pays the least. The bost place to work here as far as money is the nursing homes. If you live near a large hospital that is a happy medium between the two. Good luck and I hope I could help.

And they don't care if you are in nursing school until you are done with a certian clinical like after your first year of nursing school. Then you can work as a nurse extern and work as a nurse w/ the help of another nurse before you are even out of school.

Ok, try merry's miller manor. a nursing home.... they hire cna's all of the time... and the classes should be free as well....

I live in Indiana as well...and I'll say that you do not necessarily make more at a hospital. It really depends on the city. I actually took a 75 cent pay cut when I left LTC and went to the hospital...but now I make the same at a different LTC than I did when I did work at the hospital, so...it varies widely!
