independent contractor forms for nurse

Nurses Entrepreneurs

Help. I am setting myself up as an independent contractor but do not want to spend money on a lawyer to assist me in setting up a legal contract. Does anyone know of any website that has sample forms for nurses? It would be a big help!

Thanks,

Mary

Has anyone purchased the above product? If so, what do you think about it?

You can get more information here: http://forums.delphiforums.com/ICNurse/start

And it is free. I did not really like the instruction packages that are sold on line. Bought a few and was not really impressed.

Do you have your workman's comp policy, general liability insurance and professional liability insurance? The hospital will require all of those. Most hospitals will give you their contract. They will also ask for your business tax ID number, not a social security number. Let me know if I can help further.

Dmagee,

I have a broker working on the quotes to get my contracting business started. How do I find out the legal limits for a particular state without hassling the hospital. I need to get insurance ready so I can jump when the hospital calls, but do not want to call and say 'hey Im thinking of working with you, but I don't have all my information.' Delicate situation. Any site to get insurance requirements by state?

There are no insurance requirements by state, only by hospital. However it is pretty standard stuff: 1/1 million general insurance including fire and water; and 1/3 million professional liability.

Specializes in Med-Surg/Oncology, Ortho.

What do IC's do in regards to personal health insurance? I'm usually covered under any hospital or agency I've worked for, but since I have SLE and some kidney issues I have been turned down when I've tried to get coverage independently.

I just purchased a manual from a nurse nad her husband who both are independent contract RN send a private message - your contact information and I will forward it on to them

i just got off the website where you got your manual--i was thinking about buying it--is it worth it? does it really answer your questions about being an independent nurse contractor? i am actually going to do independent contracts with 3 area hospitals, and 1 nursing home. i plan to work 4 days a week, and charge around $50/HR. agencies charge 70-100, and i think the hospitals will pay me what i want. i am tired of making too little and working too hard for the money.

Agencies do not charge 70 to 100 dollars an hour. The norm is more like 50 to 62 an hour depending on location and specialty. But why would you want to undercut your competition? Get what you are worth! I have always been the highest paid traveler at every hospital I go to. The reason is that I do not have the limitations of regular agencies, I can negotiate just for myself as I am not trying to compete with other agencies to provide many nurses. And they cannot obtain my services from any other agency. This allows me much more flexibility to structure my contract to meet the hospital needs.

If your skills are valuable and you are a consummate professional, you are a valuable commodity, not the warm body of the usual agency placement.

Has this manual helped you? Did you purchase online? Is the website safe and secure to give out my credit card information?

I hink what she means is that the agencies charge the hospitals $70- 100 an hour for our services. And I agree. Get what you are worth. Charge what the agencies charge.

Does anyone know the difference between being an Independent Nurse Contractor and being a Private Duty Nurse?

How would either be listed on a resume?

You can not use the private message function until you have 15 posts. Maybe look for the email contact.
