Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear recently signed a bill into law that shields healthcare providers from being criminally charged for medical errors, making it the first state to do so.

If the TBON had been doing their job appropriately the first time, it wouldn't have had to go to a criminal trial.

At least there's a provision that covers negligence. Let's hope the Kentucky BON actually does its  jobs if a situation like the one the Tennessee BON so horribly bungled ever comes up.

Radonda is the worst case to use for this. It not only caused a death but a simple look at the bottle would have stopped her error. This was not something the hospital did. As for decriminalizing, I do understand it. I support families who still want to sue civilly.

this was incompetence that rose to the level of criminal negligence and someone is dead because of it.
