In search of a high paying agency for Private duty

Can anyone direct me to an agency in washington DC or Maryland that pays very well for private duty certified nursing assistant. I have tried several agencies but the rate of pay is to low. Please help anybody!

What kind of pay are you expecting? If I could have found a job that paid a fair wage as a CNA I wouldn't have gone to nursing school.

If you want pay that is higher than what the agencies are offering you, gather together a list of your references and qualifications, and place ads in the local newspapers for private duty positions. You might be able to get the wages you want. Good luck.

Thanks for responding so quickly but the rate of pay I am looking for is between 16- 18 dollars minimum. I am also considering going to LPN school soon.

Thanks I willl take your advice because I am tired of jumping from agency to agency and getting negative results.

As an RN I make $17/hr doing private duty. You might be able to get more money as a CNA in DC, I guess.

What state are you? you need to demand more pay RN are paid much more in Washington DC

As a CNA in MN the only place I've seen that pays CNAs that much are pool agencies that send CNAs into facilities to work.

Maybe try looking into hospital work. With night shift differential I'm making around 15.20/hr as a CNA.

If you salary.com the areas you are looking for, you'll see that the wages you are looking for are more in the LPN range than the CNA range.

I'm not sure if these agencies are in your area, but you can always check the yellow pages. The two agenices that I have found that pay the highest wages are Carestaf and Favorite Nurse. Both are very good agencies to work for.
