In Philly Pa & I need some guidance please

Published

Hello All,

I'm a struggling single mother of three children 13, 7 and 9 months and I'm seriously trying to get my life in order and set a good example for my kids and secure thier future. My goal is to become a nurse:nurse: but with having 3 chilldren it's the hardest thing! my plan is to hopefully find a free cna program in Philadelphia Pa, to get my foot in the medical field door and work somewhere that will reimburse me going to nursing school I know this is going to be a difficult task but I'm tired of making very little financially & I'm ready for the challenge, I have it all mapped out but where the problem lays is that I can't seem to find a free cna course in philla pa and cannot afford to pay for one. Is there anyone out there who can please guide me?

Have you checked with the VA system?

They might offer free CNA courses, and I know for certain that they offer tuition assistance to their CNAs who pursue nursing education.

Good luck!

There is a long term care facility in Chester County pa that offers free CNA training and tuition assistance but you do have to work as you attend school. It is not easy but do able I did it with 2 kids and help from my Mom.

I am not sure where you live but it is called TelHai in HoneyBrook PA. It is off of Route 322. If you live in Philly it would be too far it is over 1 hr from the city.

Holy Redeemer offers free CNA and Home Health Aide classes- they are full time and run around 12 days. It's not really clear when the classes start on their website, but you can give them a call: http://holyredeemer.com/

Also, Fair Acres Geriatric Center in Delaware County also offers free CNA training to employees- you'd essentially apply and then once hired you would be trained. http://www.fairacres.org/cna.asp
