nursing care planning made incredibly easy published 2008 by lippincott williams & wilkins. the book gives a lot of helpful information on how to put together a care plan using the nursing process. that is how i advise people all the time. the information is invaluable. it comes with a cd. on the cd are care plans for med/surg, pediatric, psych and ob/neonatal patients with all kinds of medical conditions. you will not find a care plan book with all these different situations. most care plan books are usually med/surg and that is it. you have to get a separate care plan book to cover ob or psych.
i just pulled the c-section assessment information from the cd and posted it on a thread in the nursing student assistance forum this morning for someone. you can see it here: https://allnurses.com/nursing-student-assistance/postpartum-careplan-does-410759.html
of course, i still use my old carpenito care plan book to find rationales for nursing interventions and my copy of nanda international nursing diagnoses: definitions and classifications 2009-2011 for diagnosing.
I used "Nursing Care Plans" by Gulanick and Myers...also gives rationales. Excellent book!
Amazon always has the most recent publication, you might just have to look for it, that's all, and make sure you are buying from Amazon themselves, and not a third-party seller.
Both Barnes and Noble and Amazon have this as the latest edition.

I am currently in the LPN to RN bridge program. I am in need of a good care plan book. The one they recommend for class I am not fond of and was wondering if you all might have some good suggestions. Thanks in advance!!
