As a "well-seasoned" critical care nurse, I've worked LOTS of codes. One thing I've discovered over the years is that I almost invariably dream about a code, whether successful or not. It's almost like a replay, "fixing" mistakes that may have been made, analyzing what might have led up to it. I invariably wake up feeling like I've been working all night (or day, as the case may be). Does anyone else do this? What other things make nurses have work-related dreams? :zzzzz

i was at work and the velocoraptors (from jurassic park) were loose in the hospital, and i was trying to outrun them and keep safe. as i am running towards the ambulance bay doors in the er to get out, i hit the door! the doors were locked and i couldn't get out!!!

lol, rick!!! this sounds more like one of the dreams my 3 yr old has..hehe:chuckle
I cannot TELL you the # of times I've half woken up, still in a sleep haze, thinking someone is standing by my bed telling me my patient needs to push (I birth babies for a living) or that my pt. is having fetal distress.....
I wake up irritated and exhausted and it takes me a minute to reallize I'M NOT AT WORK.

Dream of work? I do all the time. I am usually resolving something I did not have time to complete...
