Importance of Pinning With Families

Nursing Students General Students

Hi everyone!

I am set to graduate on December 16th from my nursing program and our pinning is scheduled for that afternoon. Although our pinning is being held in person, we (the students) are not allowed to have any guests. After pleading to the assistant dean of our program and the dean of the school of health life sciences, we are still not allowed to have anyone be there to support us.

I'm hoping there will be some nurses that respond on here that can tell me why pinning is important and why it is even more important to have those that have supported us through nursing school there with us.

What on earth is wrong with your school?

My school only allowed 1 guest per person - Covid rules.

What is the rationale...er...excuse? Covid?

You could consider getting together with your loved ones to celebrate instead of going to ceremony. (Or do both). Those kind of ceremonies don't really appeal to me and I didn't go to mine, or my graduation.

Congratulations ~
