Hello all,
I have a new student entering kindergarten next year who had an organ transplant a few years ago. Does anyone have a care plan or other resources (educational materials for teachers, etc.) for immunosuppressed students? Anything would be helpful. Thank you!

Maybe check with your local Childrens Hospital school based team. They should have a ton of resources for you.

O would also touch base with the physician for specifics for this child.

I agree - get permission to talk with the physician. You need specifics.
Thanks everyone. I did speak with the physician and have specific info on this child as far as my care goes. Was looking more for resources to give to teachers- how to prevent infection, handwashing, etc. I want staff to know the importance of this without giving away too much information on the child. Thanks to all!

The CDC has some great infection prevention materials:
CDC - Handwashing and Nail Hygiene - Hygiene - Healthy Water
Handwashing: Clean Hands Save Lives | CDC
Some posters here: Posters | Health Promotion Materials | Handwashing: Clean Hands Save Lives | CDC (My favorite and the one I have posted in every bathroom is the one that says "One trillion germs can live in one gram of poop. (That's the weight of a paper clip!) Wash your hands after using the toilet.")
awesome Jen! Thank you very much!
