Immunosuppressed student nurse

Hi. I just started my LPN program but I have a few concerns. I'm immunosuppressed, I had a kidney transplant 14 years ago and now in stage 3 kidney failure. And the instructors are all about not getting sick and not transmitting infections, especially with the H1N1 they are drilling precautions into us. Anyways I read somewhere that an immunosuppressed nurse can request not to care for infectious patients. Would that apply to a student nurse as well? I want to be able to participate in everything and don't want to be treated differently but truth is kind of freaked out by it. Any advice? Maybe what I should say to my instructors? Thanks.
