Guys, what were your answers to these question in student visa 575 application? 66. Do you intend to enter a hospital or a health care facility while in Australia? 67. Do you intend to work or study to be a doctor, nurse etc during your stay in Australia?

obviously it should have been yes. I really don't know what the repercussions will be, but the worst case scenario is if you apply for another visa in the future (like a work visa or permanent residency), they might check your previous visa application and see that you made an incorrect declaration and use it against you. BUT, that's the worst case in the strictest sense. I don't know all the rules and legalities involved, or whether you mistake is common to all and doesn't need any further actions, but if I were you, I would let DIAC know and have a peace of mind. Just my opinion.

I have already emailed every address I can find in DIAC. Whew. I

try to call them, or the case officer assigned to you.

By all accounts you do not have a visa that allows you to practice any type of nursing, clinical, student, observation in a health institution in Australia.

On saying that, a year or so ago there were several forum members reporting they were not admitting to entering any health care on that question as they believed that they were students only and not paid work and did not want the bother or expense and wanted a visa asap. They never reported back as having had any problems. The health check is to make sure that you are fit and as well will not be putting any patient/resident at risk in Australia.

Though surely the person that approved the visa read why the visa was required and that was to complete a bridging course for a nurse in Australia, they are responsible as well.

Hi Ceridwyn,

Yes I was also wondering because I've been reading the Health Section in DIAC. The case officer didn't require even a Chest X-ray knowing that I'm from the Philippines, which is indicated as a high risk. Some of my friends say that I don't have to panic. I've been in contact with the Perth Offshore Student Services. They have replied that I wasn't required a medical exam because my course is less than 3 months. However, I told them already about my answer to those questions, that I have mistakenly answered 'no'. They haven't replied yet. Is this really "okay"? Considering that I was already granted a visa? I'm worried actually, and paranoid.

basically, competency means what skills you're using at work. if you're an ICU nurse, then you should be competent in dealing with ICU patients and have skills to back you up, like PALS, ACLS, etc. In simple words, it's what you do at work. At least that's what I submitted.

hi everyone!

For those who were on 456 business short stay visa(3 months per entry) who had to enter Australia for another 3 months after their course, did the immigration ask for specifics like your purpose for that next 3 month visit? Do we need to have some sort of invitation letter from someone in Australia?

THanks! :)

for my case i was not asked by the immi officer both in phil and au. i went back to au twice using my 456 with multiple entries and didn't experience any difficulty :)

Hi silverdragon102

My name is Bina and I am new here and I am completely lost where to post my query.

I found you in most of the post so fingers crossed my post will reach to you.

I am RN and my agency has offered me Skilled migration visa (subclass 190) where ANMAC will do my skills assessment and other procedures. Is it possible to get visa without registering to APHRA? Even if i get visa is it a good idea to do bridging program after i get there so that i could also make some money to do that program as its so expensive.

Thank you

Try to open the anmac website and it will give you options and tell you whether you are suitable for migration. If you are not registered in UK, Singapore, Hongkong, USA, NZ, and Australia, you wont be suitable for migration. You need to do the cbridging course before you can have your skills assesed by Anmac. That's what I have understood. Just try to open the Anmac website.
