Hello friends, I am granted Business stay visa-single entry. Is/was there anyone with same situation? I dont know what shall I do in order to extend my stay in Australia after 3 months. Is it better to purchase two-way air ticket to australia in this situation? By the way I am scheduled for 8th October intake at IHNA... Somebody please help!!

Why single entry only? Did you say on the application that the reason for you to go back to australia is to follow up the registration?

i suggest you apply for a tourist visa at least 2 weeks before your 3 mos would expire. you can lodge it while you're in Australia

Yes, I had mentioned that I need to go back immediately to follow up my Nursing Registration and also search for employment but I dont know why I am not granted multiple stay?

it may also depend on the amount of the show money. i have a friend who actually did not specify that she needs to enter aus for than once. she checked the "no" option but she was still granted a multiple entry.

whats your school btw?

Ya I too think so.I had submitted bank account worth AUD 8000 after paying my tuition fee. Maybe that was not enough to be granted multiple stay

Hello there, I actually did not believe that the australian embassy would give nurses like us who would undergo a bridging program a single entry visa for the 456 category. Your case is sad news:(, I hope you can find a way to extend your stay in australia after the BP. Anyway, I am in the waiting list for the October intake also in IHNA Perth. I am really hoping that IHNA would be able to give me a slot. Are you done with your online course?

You know what, i think the factor was you mentioned that you will search for employment there. I think that's not a good reason for giving you multiple entry because that's not allowed for 456 right. Maybe if you could have just mentioned to follow up i guess that would be fine.

I believe this is right, what I did is that I checked yes for the option if I will be returning on more than one occasion then the only reason I gave was for me to finish my registration with AHPRA, I did not mention job hunting.. And I received my visa yesterday and they gave me multiple entry..

Hello there, I actually did not believe that the australian embassy would give nurses like us who would undergo a bridging program a single entry visa for the 456 category.

Employing people from overseas into positions that are supposed to be unfilled because local labour could not be found, is in theory done from overseas.

What is suppose to happen, you are from overseas and believe you have the qualifications to fill a position that has not been taken by a citizen then you apply from overseas, get offered the job, do the bridging program (if your work needs you to do this) then go onto sponsorship visa with your Australian employer.....

What nurses are doing is completing the bridging program (with no employer as yet) then requesting that you can stay in the country to wander the country, looking for full time work and a sponsorship visa from an employer that once you have it you can then claim for a permanent visa in a short time, its quicker. (If you find a sponsor) and do not need return home.

Instead of applying for a permanent visa from overseas, do the bridging program, get registered with AHPRA, wait for 885 visa, have pr visa, then come to Australia on a permanent basis then find an employer.

Every country has the right to limit entry, whether you a nurse or a bartender.

Nurses are no longer in that short of supply and being a nurse from the Phillipines does not exempt you from the same assessments as others.
