Something high protein and some carbs to keep you full for awhile. Avoid anything that will make you gassy or uncomfortable. Nothing greasy, you will be nervous, and don't need to be nauseus! Maybe oatmeal and eggs? Keep the protein bar for when you take a break during the nclex. Good luck!

ok, this might be a bit odd for breakfast (!) but I read recently that studies supported chocolate as definitely giving a "brain boost" for people taking exams. No kidding. The study cited had a control group eating normal snacks prior to exam, and the other group eating only milk chocolate (milk, not dark, no idea why, don't remember). The milk chocolate eaters were more focused and did better.
What to make of it? Me, I'm keeping a bag of Kisses in my locker in case I am feeling a need for a break, and plan to eat half a bag on my way IN, lol...

LOL I had the "Early Sunrise" (I think that is what it is called) at Bob Evans. Hubby and I woke up early and spent an hour and a half eating and drinking coffee. not to mention I had woken up the morning before with a UTI, full blown yeast infection and the worst cold sore on my bottom lip I have ever had to date. I think the stress was getting to me slightly. so to say the least I was slightly uncomfortable! I just tool breaks at 30, 60 and so on through out the test, I used the ear plugs (huge help) and had 2 breaks the computer gave me. Took those to go to the bathroom. would relax in my chair lean back and close my eyes. Not sure if it helps but that is what I did.
had 220+ questions and was in there little over 4 hours.
goodluck!
