I'm seriously debating to drop anatomy class

I've been studying for hours and hours on my anatomy class and apparently I still having trouble on lecture tests.

Right now I have a 78% in this class, and sadly to say I'm very disappointed in myself. I don't understand how I'm doing this average when I've studied for long hours of it. Even go to another college to study the models from their tutoring lab!

Some students say it's because our original teacher whose supposed to teach us quit on the first day. So we had another teacher and he was so awesome! However my lab teacher was absolute horrid. Some students felt inadequate with this lab teacher because he doesn't really "teach". Just reads off power points.

And now he's our new lecture teacher. ugh.

I'm not trying to make excuses for myself, but just an idea of what the students in this class have gone through. Each three teachers have different expectations of us.

My drop date is today before midnight. I haven't taken physio and micro yet, but having anatomy at 78% C range is not good to see on a transcript. If I take the C, I would not be able to repeat it. If I do repeat, I'll have a withdrawal in the class and I hear those are worse than a C. Is this true?

is it possible for you to speak with an advisor at your school? At my school withdraws aren't looked at negatively at all. make sure you check your schools policy though some nursing programs don't allow retakes of the sciences. lastly you need to critique your study habits make sure you're studying smarter not harder. Good luck!

All school I'm applying to you are only allowed to repeat if it's "academic forgiveness". I still haven't taken physio and micro but I hear if I have trouble with anatomy, then I'll have twice of a hard time with physio. I'm planning too by today since the drop date is actually today.

A C is not generally considered competitive, and is actually grounds for dissmissal from most grad schools and even some nursing schools. If you want a shot at nursing school, you need to work on your time management and study habits. If you are getting Cs there is a major dysfunction in your academic habits and you need to correct them to survive nursing school. Doesnt matter how hard the class is, there is no excuse for Cs, ever. I suggest you drop it and retake it with a different attitude of getting an A no matter what life throws at you. Once you want it as bad as a breath of air underwater, then you will see success, and this goes for things in life in general.

do you need only 2% more to get a B? If so, I would stick with it. If you drop it you are going to be so behind. Dont give up!

The thing is that I'm only allowed to do 1 withdrawal, and I intend to use it (not planning to but more so as a back up plan) in case I need to redo physio since it is more comprehensive than anatomy. I know people that retook anatomy twice, and I asked around the advisors and they say that's the worst a student can do because not only it's considered as "cheating". But you lose the chance of a spot at a nursing program and use a spot that a student that is reserved for a person who hasn't taken any of the prerequisites.

Your school is cracked. In no way is it "cheating" to drop a class and restart it in a new semester.

I've never heard a withdrawal being worse than a C on a transcript. Ask another adviser about it because it seems very odd.

I got a c in anatomy and I got accepted into nursing school. Each school is different but it's possible don't give up!
