I'm scared to death...

Hello! I have found this site to be so helpful for many questions that I have had, but I'm still a nervous wreck about starting nursing school. I've always been a good student (A's in a&p 1 and 2, medical micro, nurse aid class, etc) but I'm scared I will fail. My program has required we take a dosage test on day 1 and I have been studying at least an hour a day trying to master dosage, I have reviewed all my old notes, and constantly wondered if I can really do this. Classes start in mid August and I feel like I don't have enough time! Did anyone else feel like this?

I start next week, the accelerated nursing program, and I am scared to death too. In AN, you hear as much bad as you hear good. I think you will be fine, hard work is the most important thing. Dont have negative thoughts especially since you haven't even started the program. Keep studying and I am sure you will do great!!!

Thanks! I'm sure our work ethic will get us pretty far. Good Luck to you, too! So, have you been reading or studying anything to prep? At our orientation things were kind of vague about that, and I'm not sure if I should study ahead or if that can make it worse...

Hi! Congrats to you!!! I just finished my first semester with the good ad the bad! But, yes it is challenging but capable! Are u married? kids? work?

Those tests were never difficult, but they were always stressful since they were given one day #1 and you got kicked out of the class if you failed. It sounds like you've studied waaay more than enough and will probably be OK.

I'm so blessed that I have been able to leave my job and stay at home and focus on school, but I do have kids and a hubby( this makes me sound "old", but I'm only 23 lol). He is so supportive though. He baths them, cooks, takes them out when I study plus works a full time job. I am worried about my quality time with them. This semester I will be in class 2 days a week and clinical/lab the other 3, so I hope I have enough time with them. I hope I do well, but my program does not have the best reputation...everyone says it is tough and they are graduating about 10% of the initial group.

Fear is our greatest enemy. You have worked so hard and come so far. Stay strong and do your best!
