Cause of a lot of requirements needed.By the way.. Im currently working here in the Phil as a nurse for around 4months now.I hope for an immediate reply. Thanks in advance!P.S do you know any state that doesn't requires a lot of requirements? Thanks!

nursegela, first of all you need to have a Social Security Number in the United States in order to apply for the NCLEX. States are now requiring proof of residency and Social Security Number in the US in order to apply for the NCLEX. Majority of states are not accepting foreign graduates due to concurrency issues and overpopulation of nurses.
US citizens who graduated in the Philippines and come back for the NCLEX are being denied to take the NCLEX because of concurrency issues. Cases being completed outside the time frame of the corresponding ncm lecture.
Im not a us citizen and obviously i dont have an SSN so u mean i can't apply for an nclex?

You need to check the BON website clear instructions are there. Some states still accept applications without SSN however we are seeing more and more post it is required. Generally requirements are similar and for most CGFNS CES is required. The issues come after meeting requirements, passing NCLEX and if the state issues a license a license will be given as finding a employer will be hard as many not willing to wait the 6 plus years when they can probably fill the spot sooner with someone already in the US
like silver dragon said some states still accept applications without SSN. But you are competing against nurses that are US citizens. The economy in the US is very harsh right now. hundreds if not even thousands of nurses are unemployed in each state due to the recession.
Even us U.S. citizens who graduated in the Philippines are having a difficult time to sit for the nclex because the curriculum in the Philippines does not meet the standards here. Applicant's are being required to go back to school here in the USA to complete a medical surgical nursing, and redo their OB clinicals.
You should read this article steppybay posted up. It's looking to be a long road for all of us. https://allnurses.com/nurse-registration/us-labor-market-779683.html
That's a bad news. Idk if i should chnge plans. I really wanna go to the US. But i don't think i have any other choice but to try my luck or just look for somewhere else to apply to.
well don't lose hope. Have you thought of other countries to apply? my other choice is going to australia since they don't require a license at all. they just need you to evaluate your credentials and then they will walk contact you if you are eligible. but it is a plus if you do have experience. If you do consider applying for the US or Australia you need to take an English proficiency exam as well. There is a good number of Fil-Ams who were denied to take the NCLEX-RN exam now some are applying for the NCLEX-PN exam.
