I'm petrified, please help?

I've read a lot of the discussions on here and from what I've seen male nurses do quite well. I'm a male just starting school to become an LPN and quite frankly I'm worried about how hard it may be with the tests and all. I was at my last job for 8 yrs. and this is a big step for me to be making a career change. I really like the medical field and I really want to be able to move into becoming an RN and possibly a CRNA or surgery. How really hard is this to pass the nursing tests? It's not that I'm a dummy or something I usually do very well in anything I set out to do and am quite a perfectionist at times, but I stress when first getting into something new! Were you all like that at first? Did you worry you wouldn't make it? Did it come easy for some and hard for others? Please respond, especially some of the male nurses!

In my opinion the written tests are the easy part. If you study you will pass, like any other test. The clinicals are more challenging but if you like to get in and do things rather than paperwork you will do fine. The only way to get on is to just do it though, and try not to obsess.

What is a cricket prince? I too started out like you.I changed career feilds too. The written test are easy if you study. The clinicals were easy for me as I had an excellent clinical instructor. I finished my LPN program then Finished my RN program. So it can be done as I have proof every two weeks on payday. Good Luck let me know if I can be of some help.
