I'm 5'4. I have large thighs, a bit of bubble butt, and my mid-section is less than desirable; oh, and I have a large chest area.
I am hard to fit when it comes to pants/jeans, which is why, when I do wear pants, I wear my lounging pants or something similar. Because of my belly size, I have to wear a bigger size pant if I want to be comfy, which ends up looking sloppy because the leg of the pants are way too big. I'm looking for a fit that is not snug on the waist but flexible and fits closer to the leg. I should add, too, that length can be an issue; petites are way too short and some of these other styles of pants are made for women who have legs 6 feet long.
Shirts are not so much of a problem. I have a curvy waist line, so shirts that are boxy do not flatter me at all; I wear more fitted or empire waist with a v-neck.
I start nursing school in September and we have to white scrubs. I've never even tried a pair of scrubs on. Cost is not an issue--I think. So if you can guide me in the right direction, that would be supreme!
Thanks.
Do they make Grey anatomy scrub's in misses sizes now or are they still just junior sized? I tried a pair on last summer, I loved them but they were junior fit so they didn't fit quite right.
Life Uniform, where I got them, only had juniors fit. But I thought I saw some online that weren't, or at least they didn't specify that they were.
I am built very similar to what you described and I actually have those Cherokee scrub pants mentioned above. They are my 2nd favorite pair. My absolute favorite pair are Grey's Anatomy - in a 2X petite. The material is soooo soft and the tops have adjustable sides. I love those scrubs! (And I am certainly not "junior" material)
Cherokee is a nice brand. Style 4200 has cargo pockets. I work with a store in my area that will order in a style and there is no charge if I don't like the fit. I ordered style 4200 today (petite) and it will be about 10 business days before my order will be ready. Keep in mind that special orders will take a little time, so plan accordingly to be sure you have them in time for your clinical. I also ordered my lab coat last year, as I only wanted 3/4 length sleeves and all the lab coats in the store had long sleeves. Look through the uniform magazines at the store for ideas.
The best fitting scrubs for your structure are usually Dickies Scrubs or Cherokee Scrubs. The best place to get them is http://www.scrubcabana.com. Also, as a bonus you get $10 FREE just for joining Cabana Scrub Club. They have FREE shipping for orders over $50.00.
I hope this helps. If you like what you see, feel free to tell others about the $10 FREE before they take it down. It is like free money for the clothes we already purchase.
