I'd think it shouldn't affect your aid for this year, since they go by last year's income.
My husband and I jointly have never made too much for me to not get grants (sad huh? LOL), but I wonder if it makes any difference if you're married filing jointly or separately?
Congrast Iliel, I know that's a relief for you! :)
Congratulations on your engagement! :kiss About 10 yrs ago, I was recieving grants to go to cosmetology college, and like you I was getting married in Oct (the 16th). As soon as I was married my grants were terminated. I think I had a Pell. You may want to check into your situation beforehand, because I was shocked.
I ended up getting a 10 yr loan.

We're getting married in October.
I'm pretty sure that's what's going to happen to me. My BF makes enough money to support me, pay mortgage, 2 cars and what ever else comes up. I remember when I was working as a dental assistant and the gov't thought I made too much money for grants...amazing:rolleyes:

You would think I just got my acceptance letter but no...I just found out that I recieved the pell grants for 3,800 that I've been working (or lack there of) for so long to get!!!!
Now I'm worried. I'm getting married in October and I'm afraid I'm going to have to give up my grants because they will be going off his income...even though I won't be working.
Does anyone have experience with this? How do you file for FA when your married and one partner isn't working? Hmmm...I'll enjoy it while it lasts!
I hope everyone who's waiting for FA has as good of an outcome as this!
