I got my dream CNA job, right out of the gates! I passed my CNA course at the end of August, and have been filling out application after application since then, with no one even bothering to call me for an interview. A couple weeks ago I finally received a call for an interview at a local Children's hospital, and I got the job!! It's pretty much my dream job...working on a floor that only has infants on it! That is the age I worked with when I worked in childcare for the past 13 years, so it's great! I am extremely comfortable around infants.
I passed my physical and drug test, and was fitted for a TB mask, and I start my orientation on Monday! I'm so excited, I just can't stand it!! I have orientation in a classroom (yuck) for a week, and then I start training on the job, for 2 weeks or so on days, and then I switch to nights, which are my normal hours. Now, to buy scrubs. I was going to buy them online, but by the time my husband agreed to it, it was too late for them to arrive on time, so I have to buy them in a store here for much more expensive. I did order a pediatric stethoscope online, and I'll try using my adult one until it comes, and hopefully it comes before my orientation is over. The only stethoscope I could find in town was an infant Littmann, and it was out of my price range.
