OK: Why were you fired? If it had to do with anything dealing with patient abuse or any of the many areas dealing with the required background check requirement such as domestic abuse or drug abuse. You can never work as a cna again.

If your firing is non applicable, then you will have to take the CNA course all over again.

This is something most people are not aware of and is wrong. There have been very little exceptions to this.

This program is administered by the Illinois Dept. of Public Health.

Sorry.

I was fired because where i worked at the time if you were sent on break you had to go well i told the other girl on my hall that i was going and I had 2 residents that nedded to use the bathroom well she never took them so when i got back i got in trouble for it and fired the same day....

As long as Public Health wasn't notified, you're OK. You will probably have to take the CNA class all over again. There is a State of ILLinois Webb page with the Ill.Dept.Public Health page. Go there and ask your question. That's your best bet.

Good luck.

Pekin/Peoria is a good place to live/work.

Where in Pekin do you plan to work? I live in Mapleton and work in Peoria at the level one trauma center. I'm an RN but have been getting a lot of mail from Pekin Living and Rehab. I know they are very short on nurses there. Goodd luck...Pekin Hospital is a neat place to work - I have some friends there.

hello, :)

you need to be sure if the department of public health was not notify about your case. if it was and you were proved of abuse, you cannot ever work as cna again. and you cannot apply to any nursing or medical field any. wherever you go this is follo you - abuse in your papers. if public health was not notify you are safe. you need to take cna class again and pass the state exam. becarfull next time not to overtime your not working time, two years is allowed only.

take care, kathy
