Fall 2015 City Colleges of Chicago people?

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hey y'all,

I submitted my application for the city college ADN program earlier this year and since it is May, I figured I would start this topic for when the admissions decisions come back in a few weeks! I hope I get in, I would be so happy if I did.

Whew! Good! I'm sure you're fine. I wish I could reapply, I would add my 227 course.

Thanks, hope so! Good thing is now i have all the courses needed on that last application.. I hope we all get in!! Good luck!

When I was filling out the application I did choose the school preference but I did not see a place to chose am/pm. We're you guys able to choose am/pm? Does anyone know how does the registration look? Do we choose the classes ourself on the website or do we do in in school? Any insight would be super.

I did did receive the email and they got me all excited. Couple more weeks and we will know;-) can't wait.

I took my TEAS this morning 77.3 Overall and 88.1 in Reading. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I hope to see everyone in the fall, good luck!

@tabandsam. Did you buy the study guide? Please on some tips on how you studied for the test. I see you guys have pretty good scores.

Pnyangs,

I did study for about 4 or 5 days, but I didn't have the ATI manual. I had a different TEAS V study guide and flashcards and then I purchased one of the ATI practice exams. The practice exam was easier that the actual exam, but I scored a lot higher on the actual exam. I didn't find the test difficult except for the science section. I only got a 60% in science and it brought my score way down. Definitely spend some time studying and you will do fine. I found the science the hardest to study for since its such a broad subject, so make sure you study the other sections and know them well and you should do fine.

Thanks tabandsam.

Hey, I actually applied for the Nursing Program at Truman. I was wondering if anyone has anyone has any idea of what they are looking for in terms of grades. I didn't do so well in terms of GPA during undergrad but have a bachelor's degree. I took Chem 121 and Bio 121 this semester and was able to get A's in both class so my CCC GPA is 4.0. I took English and math at university with an A in English and C in Calculus 2. So, I guess my cumulative GPA would be a 3.5. I scored pretty well on the TEAS test with overall of 90.7 and reading of like 92. I'm taking BIO 226 over the summer, and really wonder's if they are considering whether or not applicants have taken the co-requisites. I'm just so nervous cause I have heard different things from different people regarding what they look for and who gets accepted. Any insight would be greatly appreciated....Thanks

Hey fropunzel,

I don't think anyone knows for sure who gets in. I'm sure it depends on how many applications they recieve. It sounds like you have nothing to worry about it you scored in the 90's on the TEAS and have a cum gpa of 3.5. They don't ask many questions on the app so I can only assume it comes down to those two things.

Good luck and we have 9 days or less until we find out!

Hey Tabandsam,

Thanks for your insight....it just seems like it can go either way depending what they are looking for.

One more day and we will know who is lucky;-). I'm super excited. Keeping my finger crossed for everyone. Let us know if u got in.

I pray they send them tomorrow as stated. I was accepted in the practical nursing program and that starts on Monday.....
