Fall 2015 City Colleges of Chicago people?

U.S.A. Illinois

Hey y'all,

I submitted my application for the city college ADN program earlier this year and since it is May, I figured I would start this topic for when the admissions decisions come back in a few weeks! I hope I get in, I would be so happy if I did.

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the thread and I am so excited just reading all of the posts. I am currently waiting to take the TEAS exam. I'm scheduled to take it on 12/18/15. Then I will apply for the nursing program 2016. I know you all must be very busy and I have a question. I recently saw my advisor and she recommended I take a pharmacology and pathophysiology class. I have plans to take microbiology next semester. Do you recommend I take these classes before the nursing program?

Thank you in advance!

Good evening! I didn't take either of those classes. I really don't think it's neccessary. When you're in the program there are so many books and resources that you will learn that stuff anyway. In my opinion it would be a waste of time and money. I'm curious though if anyone else has taken them before entering the program?

Good luck on the TEAS! Since you have a little time, I would highly recommended studying a TEAS V book. It does really help. I also used the TEAS V flashcards and bought the practice exams.

Hey all!

I recently got accepted into the fall 2016 class & was going through last years thread to see if I can get any info on what to expect. Some of us are confused by the letter. I know it's a bit different (as they want our high school transcripts and BNA certification). But was Orientation for 3 days 9am-3pm or just one? Also, any info you might have to help us get further along would be great! How was the picking of classes? as I work morning and prefer evenings. I know some of you said it was a lottery and you could possibly switch with someone. was it?
