Hey all...I applied for my illinois nursing license by endorsement back in may and I have been calling on the status and they haven't even begun processing it yet. Has anyone recently applied to their illinois license, especially by endorsement, and how long did it take? I've applied for out of state licensing before and it never took this long! It's imperative that I get my license by the fall semester of grad school so I'm freaking out a little bit! Thanks so much.

Illinois is very slow... Sorry, but I've known others seeking endorsement who've waited 6 months to get it. Have you tried to get a temporary one?
That's what scares me! Well initially I didnt submit the application for the temp permit because I thought I had plenty of time since other states where I've applied for endorsement were very quick. I called and they said I could still submit the temp application, so I did that after sending in my initial app. However, I don't think it's been long enough to be processed quite yet.

A friend of mine had to wait 6 months to get her Illinois license. This was a few years ago, but from my understanding, it hasn't changed much.

I moved to Illinois a few years ago and had no trouble getting mine. The application and all the paperwork you had to submit with it was a hassle. I want to say I received my license in the mail a few weeks after all my stuff was submitted. I've heard that if you're missing a sheet of paper or even one signature, it'll be delayed.

I know some states can take forever.. IL & GA are known for this. Good luck. All I can say is be persistent. Call often and follow up on it if possible.
thanks for a glimmer of hope!
