For those of you that took NCLEX recently, are there questions in all content areas, or do you recommend focusing on certain ones? Thanks for the help.

A friend of mine is agonizing because she keeps scoring lower in the L&D/OB sections in her studies. I try to tell her to relax because this is not a reproductive exam, nor a chronicity exam, etc. This exam covers many topics and test you on your knowledge to be able to function as an entry level RN. There are a gazillion nursing questions that they can possible ask you and you have know way of know which 265 or even 75 questions that have your name on them. So just do the best you can with whatever they ask because you may even get a medication that you have never ever heard of. If you do the research on the NCSBN website, it tells you that some of the questions, 15 to be exact, are unscored questions simply for NCLEX research purposes; but you have no way of identifying those so you are encouraged to use your thought processes and knowledge base to select the best possible answer. The Kaplan NCLEX book explains this as well. So, relax, don't try to figure our what they are gonna ask because you can't, and just show what you know on YOUR exam.
Good luck!
