If you could do it all over again.....

Would you still become a nurse?

I would just like some insight from current nurses/LPN's etc to find out after now becoming a nurse and seeing the inner workings of the hospital and health profession field in general. If given the choice to do it all over again.

Would you still become a nurse?

why or why not... If not, what other profession under the health care umbrella would you persue? ;)

Cheers

Given a different set of circumstances I may not have decided to go into nursing..it was not my first choice and I tried other fields before going into nursing. Now, having said that I would looking back still go into nursing because I feel like I am a good nurse and at the end of the day I can come home feeling like I made a difference in someone else life, I may have actually helped someone today. I didn't get that feeling being a collector for a finance company, a waitress, admitting clerk or student teacher. I do wish I had gone on for my Masters right after I graduated.

simply-put: Yes.

I have done "other things" and was a 2nd career-entry-nurse. And no regrets. I found my niche, and most of the time, am very happy with being a nurse.

The grass ain't greener, at least for me---I was there.

No I would not do it all over again. I should have gone to beauty school. And I just might.
