So I'm a brand spanking newly licensed nurse. I've been offered an extra part time position (2 days a week) at the assisted living I've worked at as a caregiver and I'm feeling unimpressed when it comes to what they're offering me in terms of pay ($22/hr). Anyone want to offer some numbers to compare to?

I moved out of IL almost a year ago, but was making a little over $22/hr working on a surgical floor in a hospital in central IL. So your rate of pay sounds about right for a new grad.

Illinois is a big state, running from the Chicago & the Great Lakes down to Ky.
Really depends where you are, and what you'll be doing

In southern Illinois, they start out at around $19 in a hospital setting...I'm sure that assisted living is probably more, as the LPNs in assisted living make around 19.

Graduated but haven't taken NCLEX yet. Was offered $26 an hour in hospice home care. Suburb next to Chicago.

Northern Part of IL, they pay New RNs at 28, LPNS at 25.
Not bad for new graduates, "experienced" Nurses earn more.
