If i become a CNA before nursing school where does it put me?

I took the CNA program this summer and just completed it last week i take my test in october. This week was my first year at college and i wanted to know when i eventually get into a nursing school where does that leave me ?

Your question is not clear to me.

Some nursing programs require you to be a CNA to apply, some award extra points for the certificate. You do not get out of any classes just for being a CNA. A lot of pre nursing students work as CNAs while doing their pre requisite courses. It is great experience to have! Good luck with your first term of college.

You will have a job that will be more flexible to your schedual than others, experience with caring for people, and something extra you can put on your school's application. My school acctually let me CLEP out of two classes because of my experience as a CNA. No matter how you look at it it will be a help to you! ;)

Probably the most it will do is give you a leg-up on the job search. Your work experience as a CNA will let potential employers know that you're comfortable giving patient care in a medical environment. It'll also (I'm told) make that first nursing class (mine is called Fundamentals of Nursing) a little easier, since you will be used to touching/changing/bathing patients already.

It will not give you credit for any classes or allow you to skip any coursework.
