IdealImage = career killer?

Published

I'm a new grad AGNP eager to work and love adult primary care but as a new grad am finding most doors closed to me. I have a solid opening at IdealImage but am afraid taking it will close the doors to other more technical work in a year or two should I decide to leave. The IdealImage pay is fine, schedule is fine, etc. I'm only concerned about long term impacts on my career if I decide to pursue something outside aesthetics. Thoughts?

Hope one of our NP's can offer you sound advice.

Specializes in Outpatient Psychiatry.

You've got bills to pay and at least one mouth to feed so if that's a job you can do then do it until other opportunity comes along.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

I know several NP's that worked at ideal image and after 1-2 years they left for medical specialty jobs or primary care jobs. Just take it until you find the next best thing.

Moonlight or volunteer a few hours/wk doing primary care. This would be my advice.
