ICTC LPN Program

I dont know, i honestly thought it was easy. but i guess not, a lot of mine were % probs, and adding and subtracting. and a couple measurement prob about expanding a garden by 50%. i honestly think my prob had to do with the time constraints. i felt like i was spending to much time on it, not that i didnt know how to do it, but having to work it out all by hand. i knew how to do the math but having to work it out was time consuming for me. i think i panicked and then we he started with the count down i panicked even more.

i looked at thier poiny system and i got more than what i thought. i didnt realize they gave double pts for reading. and i thought the pts for cna were 2 but they are 3. Plus i have over 30 college credits from 20 yrs ago. and i have well over 1 yr working as a cna. I just hope that when they make thier selection they take into consideration the other things and God puts it in thier hearts to give me a chance. I know i will do good, one of the docs i work for said he would write me a letter of recommendation if that would help. i figure it couldnt hurt any to try.

Tippy it sounds like you shouldn't have any problems getting in even with the math scores. Everything else that you have going for you should show them how serious and determined your are about this program. My test sounds just like the one you took, mostly %'s and fractions. The worst kind!

The most you could get for the math was 5 pts i think and the most you get for the reading was 10 pts.

I just got the call from ******* from the nursing department. I have an interview!!!!...well she called to schedule the interview and got my voice mail...when I called her back, I got her voice mail!!!! I am so flipping nervous. I hope the two of you got a call as well!!!

She just called me back, Thursday April 28th @ 9:30 @ the Tahlequa campus! The pointers she gave me were show up 15 minutes early, dress business casual (no scrubs), and less is more...she said do not become a chatty Kathy. Answer the question thats asked and that is it. Yeah!!!! :nurse: :nurse: :yeah: :yeah:

Sorry if im over excited, but Im just excited...I studied real hard as did yall and I just hope the two of you got the call as well!!!

No I didn't get a call and I don't think that I will be getting one. I just don't think that I had enough points..... :crying2:

They called me today. My interview is for friday...i am so excited. I really wasnt expecting it. From what i heard at the last testing if you gat the call for an interview they have already selected the ones they want but I could be wrong, i sure hope i get in. I m not gonna let myself get to excited. I hope we all get in. Good luck to ya all.

Congrats Tippy! That is great news.

I still haven't got a call and pretty sure I'm not going to. Both times I took my test my scores were good but I guess not good enough for Muskogee campus!

Don't give up 025half, they might still call ya tomorrow or later this week. I'm sure they are going thru a lot selecting their class.

Congrats Tippy!!! :yeah: :up: From what I have been told and experienced from others from last year, they interview you and add your score to your testing score. They will pick however many and there is like 2 or 3 alternates, meaning you weren't chosen to officially get in but if someone changes their mind then you are in. Not everyone who interviews will be chosen to get in or to be an alternate??? Thats how it was explained to me. I just hope we get in!!!

I called a few people from last year who received interviews b/c last year was the first year that they started the interview process b/c so many people got in and then I had to quit half way through b/c of financial reasons, babysitters etc. I was told you would be asked things like:

Why nursing

5 year plans

10 year plans

How do you plan on mainting your bills why you go to school

Do you have adequate transportation, babysitting, time to study

If you are planning on workign how are you going to manage the work load??

Tippy my interview is tomorrow, so I will definately get back on here and let you know what type of questions for sure if you would like. I am the type of person who likes to be prepared and know ahead of time what is going to happen.

Thanks, I sure hope they select me. I am even surprised I got called for an interview. I am really hoping they take the letters of recommendations I got into consideration. I got 2 from the MD's that I work with and 2 from the APN's that I work with. One of the APNs went to nursing school with the asst nursing coordinator. she said they were study buddies and for me to tell her hi from her. I'm usually not one to brown nose or pull the ace out of my sleeve but in this case i will make the exception if it helps me.

I hope I get in.
