ICHS 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello! Is there anybody who will be attending International College of Health Sciences (ICHS) in Florida in 2022?

Specializes in Lvn, Mds.

Hi how’s everyone’s process going? Does anyone know the text book situation?

All I have to say is, it’s a good program for online, but it’s a hot mess! Don’t do it! Unless you don’t have a job bc of all the time off you will need to request for during exams, clinicals, and not to mention spending over 10,000 dollars in airfare, hotel, can rental, and food. U have to buy scrubs, books, etc on top of the tuition they already charged u for. Staff is terrible. They make changes to things whenever they want and only want things their way. They keep increasing the HESI exit exam scores which makes it a lot harder to pass. And not to mention people are failing capstone and can’t even get to the HESI exam. I know people have their experiences, but save your money and time and go to school in California or another school. Hope that’s helpful.

many people have already failed classes before even getting to second half of the program. they have made several changes even in the 12weeks I have been going. I cant believe the amount of homework and you get next to NO CREDIT for the 30+hrs a week of homework. If you do not memorize the entire book you will not pass. They gave a horrible made up test and many failed. Many did not even understand what the question was asking. There is absolutely NO study guides given for anything. don't ask how many questions because they will never tell you! 1 instructor will remind you about being kicked out of the program for going against their testing policy. You are not allowed to ask any questions about the tests! After starting here, I as well have my doubts if I am going to be able to pass this. You have to darn near ace your tests to pass this program. Their last 2 classes ruined it for everyone else. From what past students I know that went here say so many students cheated that is why they have come down so hard on the new incoming students. We should not have to pay for what they did!

Thank you for sharing your exp so far with the program. May I ask did you have prior exp as a LVN/psych tech? Or did you go straight into the ICHS RN program with no prior exp?

I want to know if the decision I’m making is a good one. I can’t waste time or money on inconsistencies.

With all this being said. Has anyone brought this up to administration as to what these professors are doing?

I have 20yrs as a LVN and even I am struggling with these classes. Just know working is not really possible doing this program. Maybe previously people were able to but now with all the changes....I don't see how. Most people in my classes arent even attempting to do the homework because you don't get much credit at all. it averages to .01-.03% on each assignment. And most assignments take 90+minutes to complete. If you do not get a passing score you have to do the assignment all over again. I work with. people who went here previously and even they can not believe everything that is being changed but did say many of the people cheated and failed the NCLEX causing the schools passing rate to drop drastically. I had a staff person tell me the changes are in place to increase the scores again. Make sure you study study study.

I have not, but many have stated they have and have been told that there are other options people can go to school. The director that runs the program made it very clear that rules will be followed and if you don't like them now is. the time to leave. He also made it clear he does not want to hear anyone come crying to him about anything. I've been told this is a very different way the school is operating from previously. I will keep trying till I either pass or don't make it. I started with over 250 people in my class and last we heard it was like 200 now. We have finals next week so Im sure many more will be gone after the finals. I wish I would have looked into other schools more. California is so hard to get into an RN program that many have come to ICHS. When I was signing up the lady who helped me was so kind but nothing she said has has been true. This is an extremely difficult school!

I have to be honest, I have a family member enrolled, 2 co-workers attending currently in different semester of the program & myself am currently enrolled to start soon.

None of the ppl I have spoken to about this program have said it was a walk in the park. It’s not expected to be, it’s nursing school, it’s online & let’s be honest. Ppl cheat and it makes rules more stringent on others. That’s a given and nothing that we can do about it. If you know what rejection feels like, then that’s maybe what lead you to ICHS. CA schools are exceedingly competitive/hard to get into for this career path. This is why this school continues to be successful for out of state students.

I personally have good study habits, I am a LPN already & I have faith that regardless of the negative comments that continue to be left, I am doing what’s best for me. I can’t speak for anyone else nor will I tell anyone what to do because something is not working for them. I do understand everyone has had different experiences…trust me, I‘ve heard just about every negative thing that’s been posted or said behind the scenes on and off allnurses forum.

I also know a few ppl who have graduated as well & are happily employed RNs some even moving on to their BSN.

In conclusion, being proactive, networking with current/former ICHS students/alumni & understanding the workload that’s expected from us before hand will get us through. I do know they start with a lot of ppl and they lose a lot of ppl. Same thing happened in my LVN program.

Ppl talked negatively about my LVN program on Yelp, still do. But I became a LVN, finished the top of my class with the Florence Nightingale award & overcame the negativity. It’s not the school that counts, it’s the students. Long as they aren’t in hot water with the FL or CA BON, meeting CA requirements for reciprocity to become RN, and allowing us to sit for NCLEX? I’m totally OK with that.

This is just my opinion, I am in no way tryna tussle.

This review of what’s currently going on was helpful. I’ll be sure to study, no doubt. I’ve been hearing whispers of changes for about 6 months now.

A second choice (if things don’t pan out at ICHS) is Nightingale & I heard there’s another hybrid school in FL similar to ICHS. Can’t remember the name.

I completely agree with this. It is expected to be hard as it is nursing school. The part that is very frustrating is the constant changes in rules, test scores and the added work. The few people I know that completed and passed NCLEX say that there was a major problem with cheating and she saw it when she went to do clinicals and the week they go for the exit exam. Many could not pass that test. The Med-Surg instructor I have is great. She really is there for the students, but the other instructor is since left. Many students complained about her and as of last week she is gone. This school can be disorganized at times but overall, yes it has been OK.

My co worker told me that she started with 350+ students in her cohort & now they have 150 left. Finals coming up soon for her & she starts her last semester (capstone) next month when I start the program.
