How long ago were you in school? Were you going for an RN or LVN. Which one are you going for now?
I suggest keeping working for the first 1/2 of school if possible being a security officer usually allows you time to study. Save as much as you can for when you need to quit.
Do you have day care arranged? You cannot afford to be late at all to clinical. Have back up plan for your back up plan. Calculate your expenses and budget in an emergency or two. Stuff happens and it is best if it happens to other people.

If you have prerequisite classes, you can take some while you still are working full or part time. Many of the classes may be available as online classes which work out great for someone in your position but you have to be organized and dedicated. My suggestion is to get all your prereqs out of the way before you being the actual nursing classes. This is the way that I did it. Although I know people who have worked full-time and had small children, it was very difficult for them and their families. Start out with one or two classes to get back in the swing of things if you can.
